Carpe Diem Haiku – Cave

Cave is the prompt for today’s Carpe Diem Haiku. I found this difficult so I started to look for woodblock prints. The I found the one below by Katsushika Hokusa. It depict the “mountain woman” (yamanba) devouring an infant. She might be lurking in a cave.
demon


laughing in success
devours the newborn child
in darkness of her cave
~~
in darkness of her cave
she lured the pregnant woman
horrific midwife
