Today’s winter kigo is on Carpe Diem Haiku is Cold Crow (kangarasu). During winter we have big flocks of these birds flying around the office buildings. But as I lack pictures I go for wood block print instead. I found this wonderful one, made by Ohara Kosun, I can hear it caw.

Bjorn your haiku have the ability to keep me at them, thinking of what they ‘say’ – your first one is the classic alone, and the 2nd I saw humour after the first reading..
the 3rd is the image. What a serenade!
It’s quite common to se birds intoxicated on berries here in Sweden worse is a drunken moose. Your comments always add so much more. Thank you.
Awesome set of haiku … nicely written with a bit of scientific knowledge. This way of writing haiku is called ‘scientific haiku’. Even Basho used that technique. Well done.
Thank you.
Your second haiku is my favorite. I can hear the drunken caw! Very nice,Bjorn.
Thank you. Drunken caws are terrible 🙂
Love the ‘winter office lights’ ~ can also hear the drunken caw ~ well done ~ Another great wood block ~

Thank you. Yeah that wood block I really liked.
Since even a ferment persimmon can be tasty, I wonder if a cawing crow can be musical (at least to some ears).
Crow
If you eat fermented persimmon, you will hear the beauty in the cawing 🙂
bjorn… the last one is so so cool… hahaha..
Thank you Tarun
Lovely print… Lovely words
Thank you ted
I like them all equally. Love the use of persimmons and office lights. I didn’t know crows got drunk.
At least jackdaws can. In Swedish there is as saying that translates “drunk as a jackdaw”
