Winter kigo on Carpe Diem prompt is winter grasses (fuyu kusa). As we have winter, I choose a picture of my own here, a little woodblock printing imitation in how I processed it.

I am a little melancholy now. Excellent haiku evokes a mood. You do that well. Poor starling.
That is definitely winter there! Nice use of “sounds”
What a wonderfully composed cascade haiku Bjorn. You are telling a little story in so less words. It’s really a winter scene. By the way … what a beautiful photo of winter grasses.
Thank you for sharing this precious gem with us on Carpe Diem.
A beautiful cascading haiku … you transported me to snow clad lands … lovely !!!
Very nice … and I like the start with the northern wind conductor … great imagery!!
