Today Carpe Diem prompt is love, bringing a chance to write romantic poetry, or maybe write about how scary love can be. The picture I took from a dance performance.
her tempting smile
drum of pounding heart
I might fall
~~
I might fall
spotlight of her eyes
cannot move
~~
cannot move
lifeline of her love
embrace her
~~
embrace her
swirling ’round in dance
safety’s gone
~~
safety’s gone
lost inside her shining eyes
her tempting smile
So it turned out to be a little love story. Sometimes we have to dare to leave the perceived safety, that might not be more than a narrow ledge in the middle of a sheer cliff, still it feels a lot safer than the lifeline of love.

Awesome love story.
Thank you
The explanation is a moral that is as thoughtful as the haiku – they were all well-crafted – especially the first and last.
Thank you… 🙂
Yes, love is like falling off a cliff tethered to a lifeline with the beloved at the other end. Nice images and story. I was right there in the music of your poem.
Hope his lifeline holds.
Awesome picture and lovely story as well ~ Thanks for sharing ~
Thank you so much.
You’ve portrayed your dancer well, someone on the threshold of love – dare he take the step?
And will the lifeline hold him.
Well crafted ..
liked the flow in here 🙂
