summer butterflies
a red balloon in a toddler’s hand
a warm puppy sleeping in your lap
puddle-jumping &
remembering the taste of fresh
strawberries
autumn harvest
maples ablaze when kissed by frost
the scent of new baked bread
an evening in front of a fire place &
warm apple cider
winter moon
the sound of skis through the snow
the scent of an orange eaten
winter sun in your face &
icicles hanging from the eaves
spring dandelions
return of the migratory birds
laughter from our neighbor’s porch
yellow flowers in last year’s grass &
a fresh start

Today Punam hosts dVerse Poetics, with a prompt on happiness, she gives us suggestions of booktitles to use, and my choice was to use “The pursuit of happiness” by Chris Gardner which I used as the title of my poem.
I thought for a while to use the title of the Beatles’ song “Happiness is a warm gun” but I couldn’t really do it.

A joyous celebration of all four seasons!
You captured such a delightful and sweet poem. As I am looking at the picture blow you also capture the essence of everything happening within the picture itself. Brilliant my friend. 🙂
Thank you charlie… it was fun to ponder the pursuit of happiness
You welcome. Happiness is a good thing and sometimes can complicate things, depending on the situation of course.
Happiness throughout the seasons, Björn, and your poem did make me feel happy! I especially love red balloons in toddlers’ hands and puddle-jumping, ‘maples ablaze when kissed by frost’ and ‘the scent of new baked bread’. And a fresh start is always welcome.
I am happy to make you happy
😊
May this spring bring us the fresh start we need. I love your happy highlights for each season. Warmers in winter are always welcome.
Late winter is actually my favorite season
You pursued happiness across the seasons in this delightful verse! I was beaming as I read it.
Thank you. 😊

You nailed this one, Bjorn. I want to live in all those happiness-drenched images.
What a delightful portrayal of the four seasons, Björn!
Beautiful words and image, Bjorn!
This is beautiful, Bjorn. There are so many beautiful things in our life that we so easily walk by and miss. You have focused on what can make us truly happy.
Beautiful poem. Bjorn! Each verse captures a season. One of your best!

I love how you have unfurled all the delights of each season – it is hard to pick a favourite! Jae
A nice circular poem!
i really loved your poem, beautifully gathered.
There’s always a season for happy. Nice.
Lovely! Happy to read all these happy experiences.
Happy list!
I am going to repeat a comment left on my previous post, Björn, “How will you know when Autumn arrives? A poet will tell you!” A veritable guide to seasonal happiness…
What you have here is such a beautifully written piece of art. Don’t ever let that wonderful gift go. Keep writing, and let it take you to the highest mountains!
