In muchness more than less
ballooning braggarts
TikTok plastic selfness
building lore and fame
from virtual pedestals
converting luminance
of botoxed self
to Ponzi crypto wealth.
Through grift and scams
the self-made prominent
engage emotions while
under cover digging deep
into life and bank-accounts
Today De hosts dVerse Quadrille with where we incorporate the word much into a 44 line poem.
September 8, 2025

I, too, am weary of all of this, Bjorn. This poem hit deep. Well done.
Thank you…. so much happening out there.
I see them looking at every stoplight! Phone in hand. Great quadrille!
Yes… they are all over the place
your last line was surprising, nice one.
Much♡love
well put. way too much of this around at the moment.
You expressed so well in this quadrille what most of us think, Björn. I like the alliteration in ‘ballooning braggarts’.
Brilliant poetry Björn! Your metaphors and imagery profound. A sign of the times well told! Bravo~
An accurate depiction–too much of this!
I have a hard time with TikTok. So much of the content is stolen and a chunk of the rest is generated by AI. It’s just has a polystyrene taste to the hole endeavor. Thank you for your poem. It’s very awesome.
Björn – a biting, powerful reflection on the spectacle of online self-hood and how it feeds into manipulation and exploitation – brilliant🙌
virtual pedestal is a perfect term for it. one click of a button and it all disappears.
You describe the dark side of virtual fame quite well in this poem.
Great title to go with your poem.
Nice poem Bjorn. Very in tune with the times.
It feels as if you have pulled out the very essence of how the world turns in the wrong direction – beautifully written – Jae
It is terribly sad how attached to the rectangle we are and the fakeness of a life it gives the masses. Nicely written and must say I’m glad to be out of the social media noise.
Brilliant and spot on. This reminded me also of one of the episodes of ‘Black Mirror’, Nose Dive. It paints what is happening and is still happening today.
A cool quadrille that reads like a stream of consciousness ~ Great consciousness at that!!!!
You are pretty much spot on! We were watching a documentary a bit back about those influencers who end up living a fake life but living off proceeds from social media. Yeah, I suppose it would be nice to have an “easy” income but I surely wouldn’t count on it!
We see more and more of it all the time, especially targeting youth.
Love your title, Bjorn. It sets up the poem perfectly!
Yeah, that covers the now, and well Bjorn. But, can you turn it into a video?
🙂
Sadly true…why I’m not on Tik Tok. So much social media is faked.
You express it all so well. 👏
