In downtown Stockholm, the cherry blossoms draw crowds every year. For many years I almost never managed to be there in time to experience it at its peak. The experience of walking under the canopies looking skywards toward the pink ceiling with glimpses of blue sky between the boughs is something to remember.
I see families of all ethnicities taking pictures of their toddlers, elderly women with teenage smiles, and teens gathering new wisdom from the brevity of the falling flowers.
The next week the ground is covered in fallen petals while the first green leaves on bare branches mature.

Today Frank hosts dVerse Haibun monday with the task of addressing the cherry bloom as a prompt.
With the updated ChatGPT I could not help but also adding a Manga Style drawing of myself under the blooming trees.

Bjorn, as long as people go outside and walk under blooming cherry trees, humanity is not lost. I adore the haiku ❤
I agree… it means a lot to spend some time under the trees together with others.

It is fun trying the new AI out…
Stellar haiku!
wonderful Bjorn. Especially “teens gathering new wisdom from the brevity of the falling flowers.”
What an amazing walk that must be! Thank you for sharing.
I enjoyed the imagery of elderly women with teenage smiles. And I really like cartoon you under the cherry trees.
Thank you for sharing your experiences with cherry blossoms.
That haiku is stellar, Bjorn!
Exquisite! Love the complement between your prose and haiku, Bjorn!
The cherry blossoms seem to unite people under the canopy of pink. Love the haiku so well done. Bjorn.
I loved the ending haiku. Well done.
You paint a heart-warming picture of downtown Stockholm, Björn, and I’d like to think it is the same the world over, families of all ethnicities ‘walking under the canopies looking skywards toward the pink ceiling’. I love the haiku.
Lovely Haibun and image
The scene is so similar to ours with “all ethnicities taking pictures”. The beauty of nature can unify us all if we let it.
Wonderful haibun, Bjorn! I have yet to experience cherry blossoms in bloom. I hope to do so one day.
