2. True..wish would leaf earlier though. A very naturalistic haiku..

3. Our trees rather confused– in the high twenties yesterday going up to the fifties today and down to 19 tonight and then on Tuesday minus six. All Fahrenheit but I am sure you get the gist. Take care, Bjorn. K.

   • Not quite as big variation here.. But I think birches are triggered more by light than temperature… so with the darkness we have not much will grow..

7. Wow! What a beauty … a masterpiece, could have been written by one of our classical masters … chapeau!

8. So nicely done — plus there are two grand birches outside my house so I have a special fondness for them. You’re right — they don’t seem to be confused by temperature swings, waiting for the light instead. But how I miss those leaves!

9. A very peaceful haiku. The image of sleeping birch in winter, I think, is iconic to most people who dwell in the northern hemisphere of the planet.
