When fingerlings invade the brackish swell
and centipedes are crawling deep inside
the caves where asphodel and spiders dwell.
Their sheen of malachite will coincide
with cthulhu tentacles that suck your blood
in carpe noctem they will find their brides.
With sulfur cirrus-breath they hide in mud
as sun is high the maiden-girls are safe
but during night they are pulled into the floods.
With razor claws they grip their virgin slaves.
and drag them gently through a nightly hell
so then at dawn they’ve filled another grave.
They lurk, and deep in autumn shadows dwell
those brimstone critters, can you feel their smell?
When night are darker I wanted to capture a hellish mood using the #lqw words of last week. If you like them write one and link up to lqw-wordle

Bjorn, That’s almost enough to make a young, pretty woman afraid to go to sleep at night. O-o Well written. 🙂 — Suzanne
The “scary face” emoticon didn’t work. O-o
Well I’ll try again. I think I’m doing it wrong.
This should work.
Yikes! k.
Admire the cadence of this and it really is spooky and it certainly depicts that creepy painting. Well done!
Wow! This is very well done, Bjorn. What an amazing selection of words and your imagery is so vivid. Wonderful work.
The rhyme and rhythm here almost make one forget the grue–but not quite–it is as sneaky as that smell you can almost see. Great to reread this this morning.
love that eccentric collection of words, your worked them well.
some dark and creepy images there, reminds me of hallows eve.
enjoyed!

Oh, yeah, you’ve got that creep factor well.
Freaky world you’ve created! Well done. It reads nicely as well.
Whoa! You certainly achieved your goal, Bjorn! The fourth stanza is absolutely horrifying! Even with the esoteric word list, you’ve created a piece that reaches into the gut of everyman. Really well done.
(Look at you! EARLY.)
‘Always like technical containersand images, but ewwww… what images… ! H. Ewww Bosch is perfect artist for the decadence.

You will have a heads-up each day as well on twitter 😉
ah, Bosch… what an excellent pairing, Bjorn ~
I agree with grapeling, Bosch’s paintings are rather nightmarish. Well written.
Capeau Bjorn a magnificent terza rima …
Poor virgins!
