Sad and true all at once. Who are we to say what is a castle to someone?
Living in a place NY where you kind of see this on the street makes it quite sad for me–neon lights more likely outdoor signs here–and over heating or subway grates. Well distilled Bjorn. k.
i can see him in the alley, by the bar…
There’s been a surge of homeless people in my little town, and it breaks my heart – the police drive them away before they can even establish their cardboard castles – and I worry about them so much.

Touchingly truthful.
Beggar’s castle… so sad.

I love this haiku! during the winter months here, many try to find warmth near heating vents and subways. I work late and at the subways on cold nights, many sleep until midnight to 1am…the subway is closed from 1am. to 5am. Ours are so warm we have to take our winter coats off
Yes there are many people who need to find a different kind of castle come winter
