Procrastination is what I do best

procrastination is what i do best –
it’s my enemy-friend

procrastination is an art I have mastered
in my fear of success
a symptom of being a perfectionist?
I still haven’t mailed my xmas cards

procrastination is the new carpe diem
it’s my middle name
procrastination is the art
of keeping up with yesterday
the talent of the sensible and productive?
procrastination is a bitch
an opportunity’s assassin

procrastination is depicted here
part of being human
procrastination is hazardous like masturbation
procrastination is the killer of dreams
more important than sex

procrastination is neither a skill nor an artform
defined by a lack of self
the gap between intention and action
procrastination is ruining my life
but it’s the only true stress-reliever

procrastination is what i do best

Today Fireblossom asks us to do list-poem’s at Real Toads, and being a lazy guy I took the help of googlism.

  1. Lots of great cadence to this Bjorn, and a slightly tongue in cheek approach only underlines the message that little bit more. I especially like this line: “procrastination is a bitch/an opportunity’s assassin..” Welcome to the garden, btw–sorry to have been absent for your arrival.

  2. Haha! Your method in writing the poem has become a case in point of your subject! Such fun! I do love that polar bear, though I’d be happier to see it in the wild.

  3. Funny and even ironic. When you got to masturbation I knew you weren’t serious. Still …. But, hey, stress needs release so better may come, as you say.

  4. Procrastination is “the gap between intention and action.” Great observation, Bjorn, and thanks for the introduction to ‘googlism.’ Very interesting 🙂

  5. I can relate to being a procrastinator. I have rationalized it by saying I do my best work under pressure…

procrastination is a frenemy to many I would think.
