Obscurity of hovercrafts – for dVerse

the secrets of the sky reveal itself
as cloud formations modify themselves
into obscurity of hovercrafts
pretending to be elephants

I tell it to the swaying kelp
I sing it to the trees themselves
my liver’s picked by buzzards
my brain cells multiply to galaxies
into thousands upon thousands
pillows made of eiderdown

as concrete spiderwebs dissolve
in relentless ocean waves
but still the soldier’s boots remain
in this gargantuan solitude

Today Anthony has dVerse poetics. I’m still not fully up to speed, but I couldn’t miss another prompt.

  1. i think the boots of soldiers may ever remain…and hopefully you dont get sysiphus’ punishment…ha. and i think my brain cells might multiply or explode along those same lines…ha, feeling a bit offspeed myself…

  2. No way Bjorn… this is well up to speed… loved my brain cells multiply to galaxies into thousands upon thousands…ending with the soldier’s boots added another element and makes me think of war… or someone who made it out alive

  3. OH..i love to look at the sky and see all the designs of IS..that can be..when we use our tool of creativity of mind..in true patterned ways of making looking up..looking down…
    free..to see..
    whatever it is
    our WILL to see…
    never ever..made by some one
    else…:)!

  4. Far out, brother; deep, hallucinatory, yet never losing poet’s eye & tongue; ever the crusader, even stoned immaculate.

  5. I think it is surreal as surreal can be. There’s magic, there’s sadness, and the contrast between the grandness of the galaxies and the soldier’s solitude.

  6. Björn, for the uninitiated this was difficult to understand… but then I looked up dVerse and suddenly the veil was lifted! I think.
It is a dream sequence; yes?

My favorite lines in your piece:
“…my brain cells multiply to galaxies
    into thousands upon thousands
    pillows made of eiderdown…”

It made me think of the mathematics of fractals and I saw brain cells spinning off into ethereal forms.

    Am I onto your meaning?

  7. I too like the visual of the hovercraft pretending to be elephants…and felt a pang of sadness at those empty soldier’s boots. Excellent, Bjorn.

  8. hovercraft pretending to be elephants and buzzards picking at your liver as brain cells expand into galaxies…this is quite a trip of interesting visuals.

  9. What a lovely way to say the struggle of a soldier , he stands for us but we never think of whats happening to them and we live a nomad life

  10. whether it’s real or surreal..a soldier boots will remain.. the image of brain cells multiplying…well it’s surreal:)

  11. You nailed the intrigue and craziness of the dream state. Loved your visuals and images. I thought my dreams were crazy wild, but yours def trump mine. LOL
