Contemptuous words that prick my skin
that pluck my chest-hairs one by one
declaring that our life is sin
contemptuous words that prick my skin
when to his sermons you have gone
I seek for truth in bottled gin
Contemptuous words that prick my skin
that pluck my chest-hairs one by one
We’re separated day and night
you seek for insight from above
it leaves me where it’s far from bright
we’re separated day and night
now, do you smell our withered love
within myself I now must fight
We’re separated day and night
you seek for insight from above
I never said the word goodbye
but on a note I wished you luck
though deep within it was a lie
I never said the word goodbye
in silence there’s no hair to pluck
Now numb I can prepare to die
I never said the word goodbye
but on a note I wished you luck

Hand study with bible by Albrecht Durer
This week the word at trifecta is pluck:
3: to move, remove, or separate forcibly or abruptly
I also wanted to make triolets.. and three triolets has to be good for trifecta.

This is really very good.
Thank you 🙂
Good stuff. I feel hollow after reading it.
very sad! and I’m sure this is a reality for many a wanderer
I feel the pain Bjorn. Very sharp.
Amazing work, Bjorn!! The pain was so real in your words!
Another amazing piece from you my friend!
Beautiful. The three stanzas make sense as a whole. The repetition helps paint the portrait. The best part of the piece is the masochist behind the voice; the pain isn’t as gratifying or real without another person to share it with.
You’re so good at this fixed verse poetry. I particularly love the last stanza. But the first one sets the stage beautifully with physical and mental pain. Really, really well done!
Ow…*feeling my chest hair*
You pulled me in and make me feel the pain. well done
Really amazing work, Björn. I am impressed with your skill at fixed verse.
Heartbreaking! I kept thinking that this could be put to music, but then I decided that an a capella rendering would be perfect.
I love the repeated phrases, but it’s all lovely!
lovely verses great poem…:-)
Björn, I felt this as the verse grabbed my heart. Truly beautiful.
I could hear you reading this, even though you didn’t record it. Lovely work. Thanks for linking up. Don’t forget to vote.
Wow!Another fabulous piece!
