Carpe Diem Haiku – Galaxy.

We know from observations from the Hubble telescope that we can conclude that there are at least one trillion (1000 billion) galaxies. How tiny the earth is among these vast masses is not even possible to comprehend.

Despite the huge amount of mass accumulated in the galaxies the amount of emptiness is still even larger, and as the universe is constantly expanding the emptiness is constantly growing.

loneliness

Can we with this comprehend infinity? Infinity has always to be larger than anything that we can understand, and the universe is just a tiny speck in the face of infinity. Still we constantly use infinity and can even visualize it with number theory here on earth.

  1. Bjorn, enjoy your time off! I like the last haiku especially, because infinity is so many you can’t count, and universe is “one word,” and I can see God in both.

  8. Have fun with your time off! This was fascinating – as I went to your link and read the article. Haiku so well done! But the thing most fascinating to me was that I pondered al that was presented as I read your haiku, and as I approached the last haiku I was pondering “if” God were not really “out” there, just as we pondered as children. And by golly, there it was; a question within your last haiku.
