Carpe Diem Haiku is to write a haiku inspired by this haiku written by Jane Reichhold:
sweeping the porch
bright prints of raindrops
followed by splashes
I wanted to catch the feeling of a rainshower in this haiku.

Dead Leaf and a pod by Vincent van Gogh
My response is:
by sudden gust
leafs swept from my porch
pitter-patter

love the two – they both catch it.
Oh yes! You caught the essence of Reichhold’s poem but you made it your own!!
Thank you 🙂
Oh, you have done it, my friend — beautiful and so alive!
Thank you 🙂 I love the pitter-patter
Beautiful.I can feel the power of the wind
you did it. very lovely. Well crafted.
Nice twinning. Well done.
Brilliant imagery… Great work!
I see that now you have the very breath-of-the-Universe, the WIND, doing your work! A Well-intoned verse…
Yes, it feels like rain.
The better way to have the leaves swept from the porch. Wonderful! I can hear the sound of the leaves rustling and whooshing in the wind.
Pity the poor windswept leaves!

You did that Bjorn.>KB
Sometimes those leaves do evoke pitter-patter, don’t they? Lovely! I like the picture too.
Excellent, I was going to try and use pitter patter, but I failed. Just as well given the quality of your haiku!
warm summer raindrops
nice when the wind lends a hand
I like the feeling you gave it – well done
a delight for the senses….I smell the ozone…
Wow, most excellent.
Nicely done. I love the pitter patter to follow the exiting leaves.
Love it! We have had some rainy days followed by sun, which created muggy hot days.
Very sweet sound-rich haiku. K.
Never trust a sudden gust!
