Carpe Diem – Story Teller

Carpe Diem prompt today is storyteller. My thoughts went immediately to the Icelandic saga writer Snorri Sturluson. He collected and wrote down many of the oral poetry from Iceland. I really recommend a reading of these old books, and Iceland is such an interesting land. I really recommend a visit.

stories told
of violence and blood –
family bonds

solve the feud
by feeding the ravens –
bodycount

In the last haiku I have used a kenning, which I think is actually quite close to the imagery of haiku. Would like to explore the use of kenning in haiku in the future.

  1. I am fighting for survival of Malay legends and folklore and have written quite a few anthologies and novels on Malay legends. It was a slow and lonely journey until finally, books begin to leave the bookshops. So yes, I have said this again and again , legends and folklores are the memories of ancient civilizations. Our past. If we lose them, we lose a hugh part of ourselves.

    Thank you Björn.
