I’m very very late with my VisDare entry this week. This is the fifthe installment of my vampire story. If you want to catch up here are part1, part2, part3
part 4
The church bells stroke three and the waiting was almost over, with daylight came safety. The knowledge of the destiny of his cousins Amanda and Alexander haunted him, but here in the chapel he was safe during the dark hours, when they were out hunting. He pressed the crucifix agains his chest and listened to the the rasping of claws againt the closed door. He drifted into an uneasy sleep.
Suddenly soft steps behind him woke him with a jolt, and barefoot his daughter came towards him, in the full moon her small body looked like a sweet angel. He opened his arms and embraced her tightly. He could feel her shuddering as he lifted her up in joy.
“Oh you are safe my dearest Jenny”
“Oh yes, Papa and so are you”
He felt the smell of the crucifix smouldering as she sank her tiny fangs into his bare neck.
