Today in Carpe Diem we have the wonderful opportunity to make haiku inspired by an old master, Shiki, and Kristjaan has chosen this one for us.
the peacock
spreading out his tail
in the Spring breeze
And for this I have chosen a woodblock print from a real master Ohara Kosun.

You had me at floating emeralds. What a delightful vision!!
Lovely.
The concept of “floating emeralds” is so romantic and visually dramatic!
Bravo, all three are excellent. Thank you 🙂
all of your haiku are brilliant.. floating emeralds.. a peacock’s vanity… the eyes on his tail.. you’ve captured everything! 🙂
Love this image and the words…wonderful!
Vivid imagery … loved it!
Wow! Bjorn these are awesome … so in the Spirit of Shiki. All three are little treasures. Thank you for this treat.

Interesting – you’re the only one who mentioned the feather ‘eyes’ …. I wish I had! 3 beautifully written haiku
Oh, he forgets his wife! Sometimes even plain, ordinary humans do that, and they’re not beautiful like the preening peacock!
These are luscious, sensuous haiku, Bjorn!
Thank you Jan, it’s so fun to do a daily haiku.. I’m totally hooked. 🙂
