Carpe Diem Haiku – early plum blossoms (sobai)

Today the kigo in Carpe Diem is early plum blossoms (sobai). There are wonderful woodblock prints to illustrate, and I took this little one by Yashima Gakutei.

like winter’s snow

beauty on the bare branch
smiling at me
