Paradise lost – 100 WCGU

The prompt is …the silence was deafening…. 104 words exactly.

Eve took his right hand and stroked it gently. With a hesitant smile she looked him deeply into the eyes and said with breaking voice:

I don’t love you anymore

For several minutes the silence was deafening. it was as all the joy had left his world. He could see her sob, but the sound of her crying was muffled by his pain.

Finally he raised himself and said ( in a much more angry tone than he intended ):

Is there another man, Eve?

She looked at him with tearful eyes and answered:

Whatever gave you that idea Adam?
