The evening lull, a doldrum of the sea
Has forced us to take down the sails
And in the setting sun we seek refuge
Behind a trail of birds, the ocean gulls
We do not talk, in scenery like this
Don’t disturb a serenade of sea and sun

An evening song to a summer memory

I loved the beautiful sunset. The scenery is stunning. 🙂
Thanks Chris, appreciative your feedback 🙂
sailed a time or two, and yes, there are times when word are in the way.
Nothing like the nature’s serenity to remove the need for words, thanks for your comment.
Lush words, beautiful sunset!
Thank you so much 🙂
I think, while flipping around in your blog when I first came here, I think I came upon this very beautiful piece of yours–this post. It is what made me think, in addition to your avatar, that you must be a sailor.
I remember thinking that perhaps you worked in sailing, as do so many sailing buffs. Still, when you told me you were a physicist, I was not at all surprised, for some reason.
I mentioned your page to a friend–another scientist, coincidentally enough–and he was surprised to hear your name. He knows you by reputation, he said, though not personally. “Small world,” we both said. almost at the same time.
I love the sea, but I use a kayak, and indeed my Avi is taken when I was out with my kayak.
Interesting, I switched away from science more than 20 years ago. Now working with technology. 🙂
